TERMS & CONDITIONS OF USE - KC SCRIPT PORTAL
These Terms and Conditions of Use (“Terms”) apply to the KC Script Portal web site located at https://dja-prd-ecexap1.kingcounty.gov/, and all associated sites linked to KC Script Portal by King County. Your access to and use of KC Script Portal (“Site”) is conditioned upon your acceptance of and compliance with these terms. These terms apply to all users who access or register for a KC Script Portal Account. You agree that by accessing KC Script Portal, you have read, understood and agree to be bound by all of these Terms. If you do not agree with all of these Terms, then you are expressly prohibited from using this Site and you must discontinue use immediately.
Supplemental terms and conditions or documents that may be posted on the KC Script Portal site from time to time are hereby expressly incorporated by reference. King County Script Portal Service reserves the right, in our sole discretion to make changes or modifications to these Terms at any time and for any reason, without any notice.
It is your responsibility to periodically review these Terms to stay informed of updates. You will be subject to and will be deemed to have been made aware of and to have accepted, the changes in any revised Terms by your continued use of the Site after the date such revised Terms and Conditions are posted.
You may not access or use the Site for any purpose other than that for which it is made available.
By registering for a KC Script Portal Account, you agree to accept the following terms and conditions:
KC Script Portal Accounts are provided to assist users with accessing and obtaining court records.
Definitions
Electronic Record: is a record maintained by the Clerk’s Office in an electronic format.
KC Script Portal: is the application connected to the Clerk’s Office Case Management System that allows customers to conduct business with the court. It is the official repository of documents in King County Superior Court case files.
KC Script Account
The KC Script Portal account being registered is for my own use or for use by my authorized agent or employee.
I am responsible for preventing unauthorized use of my account. If I believe there has been unauthorized use, I will immediately notify the King County Clerk's Office by sending an email to EServices@kingcounty.gov or calling (206) 477-3000.
I agree to provide true, accurate, current and complete information to the KC Script Portal to become a registered user and I will maintain such information by promptly updating my KC Script Portal account of any changes to that information.
I agree if at any time KC Script Portal Account Service has reasonable grounds to believe that information provided is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, KC Script Portal Account Service may without notice suspend or terminate User access to KC Script Portal Account.
I agree my KC Script Portal account is to be used for lawful purposes only; this includes but is not limited to using the Portal in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others or cause disruption of the KC Script Portal.
As a KC Script Portal User, I agree that I have no expectation of privacy in my usage of KC Script Portal and that the Clerk’s Office may periodically examine my usage of the KC Script Portal for administrative purposes. Information on my account use may be shared with others based on public disclosure requests or subpoenas.
I agree that my usage of the KC Script Portal is at my own risk, and that I assume full responsibility for my usage of, downloading from, and printing from the KC Script Portal.
Access to Court Records
I understand that the Clerk’s Office may update and correct records as the Clerk deems appropriate.
I understand that not all cases/documents are available online pursuant to Local General Rule (LGR) 31, court rules and RCW’s.
I understand there is a fee to view and access documents.
I understand that I will have to request certified copies and there is an extra fee for certified copies. Certified copies must have the Clerk’s official stamp and seal.
I understand that no refunds will be given.
I will access only those records that I am entitled to view. If I inadvertently access records that are sealed/confidential, I will not share those records with others. I recognize that a person’s identity and authority must be verified by the Clerk’s Office before getting access to sealed/confidential records and I do not have authority to share those records with others.
System Availability
I understand that the Superior Court Clerk is not responsible for delays or other technical problems that may arise in providing access to court records, completing orders, or delivering the emails associated with E-Service. I understand that the KC Script Portal may be unavailable from time to time due to planned and unplanned maintenance or technical issues.
Third Party Claims
I will defend King County against any claim, demand, suit, or proceeding made or brought against King County by a third party alleging that any data I use in conjunction with any websites or any App(s), or my use of any service or content in breach of this Agreement, infringes or misappropriates such third party’s intellectual property rights or violates any law (a “Claim Against King County”), and I will indemnify King County from any damages, attorney fees and costs incurred by King County as a result of, or for any amounts paid by King County under a court-approved settlement of, a Claim Against King County, provided King County (a) promptly gives me written notice of the Claim Against King County, (b) gives me sole control of the defense and settlement of the Claim Against King County (except that I may not settle any Claim Against King County unless it unconditionally releases King County of all liability), and (c) gives me all reasonable assistance, at my expense.
Disclaimer of Warranty, Limitation of Liability
King County attempts to provide the best service available, but situations will occur that disrupt service or cause inaccurate information to be posted. The material presented on this website is not guaranteed as to accuracy, completeness, reliability, usefulness, or timeliness. The provision of the website depends on a number of items, including Internet availability, communications networks, and computer equipment which are beyond the control of King County and difficult to predict. The information on this website or in any App is not intended to constitute advice nor is it to be used as a substitute for specific advice from a professional. I should not act (or refrain from acting) based upon the information on this website without independently verifying the information and, as necessary, obtaining professional advice regarding my particular facts and circumstances. Financial Hardship
I understand that requests may be made to waive the fees. Fee waivers are based on the financial need.
Termination of Account
I understand that failure to adhere to these Terms may result in termination of my KC Script Portal account.
Unclaimed Property
I understand if my account is unused for two years, any account balance of $10.00 or more may be transmitted to the State Department of Revenue of Washington State as unclaimed property.
